MADERA SPEEDWAY INTRODUCES SUPER LATE MODEL CHALLENGE SERIES FOR 2024 SEASON

MADERA, CALIFORNIA (January 5, 2024) – High speed Super Late Model thrills will return to the Madera Speedway for the first time since 2019 with at least four race series in 2024. The big engines and slick tires will speed around the fastest one-third mile on the west on April 13, May 11, June 15, and July 13, with one additional date pending announcement. The season opens on April 13 for the Hoosier Hammertime 100 as part of the MAVTV-televised Jimmy Screeton Memorial for Midgets. May 11 will be the May Magic 100. The June Jam 100 is on June 15 before the July Jubilee 100 on July 13.

A rules package open to a wide-variety of engine packages has been unveiled at www.RaceMadera.com Open Engines for any Cast Iron Block engine, Seal Alliance Builders 604s, and GM factory sealed 604s will compete together with carburetors and weight adjustments to level the playing field. All races will take place on Hoosier 10” slick tires with only two sets of tires allowed per weekend.

Several Madera Speedway champions from the MAVTV-televised Pro Late Model division are among the drivers aiming to compete for Super Late Model honors during the prestigious new program. The non-televised Madera Late Model division and the new Pro Sportsman division will be among the support divisions on the May, June, and July events.

2023 $10,000 to win Short Track Shootout winner Derek Thorn leads all Super Late Model competitors at Madera with eight career triumphs. West Coast Stock Car/Motorsports Hall of Famers Jim Pettit and MK Kanke have also prevailed in Super Late Model events at the one-third mile along with track sponsor and philanthropist Carlos Vieira, 2023 SRL champion Jacob Gomes, and multi-time Super Late Model champion and race winner Jeremy Doss.

The complete 2024 schedule includes nine rounds of the MAVTV-televised Pro and Jr. Late Model Series, with all nine nights featuring INEX Legends and Bandoleros in action as well. Major open wheel events are planned throughout the season along with the Olga’s California Dream 100 for Mini Stocks and the return of the nationally-televised ARCA Menards Series West. The season concludes with the annual Pumpkin Smash Halloween Bash in October.
