PANELLA, SALMON, HENRY, DAVIS, AND ROUSH STAR IN ROUND THREE AT DELTA SPEEDWAY

STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA (May 18, 2025) – Stockton’s Nikko Panella won his second consecutive Super 600 feature on Saturday night at Delta Speedway at the San Joaquin County Fairgrounds, joined by Fresno’s Mattix Salmon, Sacramento’s Landon Henry, Manteca’s Briggs Davis, and Huxcen Roush of Riverdale as winners during the third Micro Sprint points race of 2025. Opening night Super 600 winner Colton Key of Fresno led the winged time trials before Brentwood drivers Isabel Barnes and Jeffrey Pahule snared the ten-lap heat races.

Points leader Nikko Panella started on the pole position for the 30-lap affair. Panella defended a challenge from Barnes, before Salmon passed her for second place.

Panella led Salmon through lapped traffic, rolling the top side for the win. Salmon settled for second followed by Raio Salmon, Alex Panella, and Barnes.

Nikko Panella kicked off wingless racing with fast-time over a 20-car field. Pahule and Salmon then won the ten-lap heat races.

Payette, Idaho’s Teddy Bivert started on the pole but was slid by Salmon on the opening lap. Bivert found himself quickly shuffled outside of the top-five.

Salmon’s pass proved to be a decisive one as he maintained a lead over Jeffrey Pahule through lapped traffic. Vito Celli and Panella staged an exciting battle for third, but were over five seconds in arrears of the leaders.

A caution flew on lap 24 when Bivert crashed hard in turn two. Isabel Barnes then spun on the backstretch to set up a three-lap shootout to the finish. Pahule threw multiple slidejob attempts at Salmon to no avail, before another caution flew for an incident in turn three.

Salmon withstood the pressure for the Non-Wing triumph, followed by Pahule, Panella, Brody Rubio of Manteca, and Cameron Paul of Springsville.

Landon Henry avoided a major melee at the start 25-lap A-Class feature. Henry led qualifying before Eric Botelho and Lucas Mauldin scored heat race wins. Henry started ninth in the pack among the 14-drivers in the new stock division.

Hailey Boudakian of Hanford slid across Jackson Tardiff of Vacaville coming to the green, sending both cars careening into the front stretch wall for a violent multi-car collision. All the drivers involved were uninjured.

Jarrett Heimlich restarted on the pole alongside Botelho with Henry up to fifth at that stage. Kyle Fernandez of Tracy drove underneath both of them to nab the lead.

Henry advanced through the pack then ran down Fernandez, seizing the lead on lap 16. Henry topped Fernandez, Botelho, Levi Osborne of Tracy, and Lucas Mauldin.

Briggs Davis won his second Restricted 25-lap feature of the season after starting third. Rancho Murieta’s Maya Mauldin led qualifying and won the first heat race. Nathan Hammer of Antioch won the second heat race.

Southern California visitor Rowdy Medina led the first 20 circuits before Davis was able to dive underneath on the backstretch to lead lap 21. Davis sailed off to victory to extend his points lead. Medina finished second ahead of Bryson Sozinho, Mauldin, and Mackcen Roush.

Huxcen Roush led all 20-laps for the Jr. Sprints victory. Samantha Dozier advanced from fifth to finished second, followed by Easton Wright, Lucas Fenn, and Santino Gonella. Wright Roush and Fenn won the heat races.

Delta Speedway in Stockton will return to racing on June 20 and 21 for the annual Summer Sizzler races.
