OVER 250 OUTLAW KARTS TEAMS SET FOR RECORD-BREAKING HIGH DESERT HUSTLE IN RENO, FEB 1-3

RENO, NEVADA (January 26, 2024) – An outstanding field of more than 250 Outlaw Kart racers are set to compete in the record-breaking inaugural High Desert Hustle on Feb 1-3 at the Reno-Sparks Livestock Events Center. The lucrative indoor dirt track event features a $10,000 to win feature for the Open 500cc Outlaw Karts on Saturday night along with $3,000 to win for 250cc, $2,000 to win Box Stock, $1,000 to win Beginner Box Stock, $1,500 to win Caged Clones, and $2,000 to win Non-Wing. A temporary high banked dirt oval will be constructed inside the Events Center with 6000 seats and indoor pit parking as well. Track construction begins on Saturday before on track activity begins with Wednesday practices.

Pre-entry continues online at www.highdeserthustle.com and will be available at the gate as well. Spec fuel will be required and for sale at the track. Grandstand tickets are just $14 and available at the gate each night with a four-day pass available for $40 as well. Kids eight and under are free! Grandstands will be open during all three days of racing action beginning at 12:30pm each night. Opening ceremonies will follow the final Non-Wing heat race on Thursday and Friday, at approx. 5:30pm All four nights of on-track action will also be streamed live on www.FastFour.TV

Nearly 200 entries will be competing on behalf of the Golden State of California, facing off with nearly two dozen Northern Nevada drivers who will defend their home turf. Oregon will be well-represented with nearly two dozen participants along with a single entry from Washington.

The high-speed indoor excitement launches on January 31. Hauler parking and pit area move in begins at 9am followed by practice sessions at 4:30pm and 7:30pm. Racing commences on Thursday and Friday with hot laps at 12:30pm each day and complete shows of qualifying, heat races, qualifiers, and feature events each night. Saturday’s action also begins at 12:30pm with a full slate of feature races.

The 94-kart entry list for the headlining Open 500 division includes Red Bluff Outlaws points leader Landon Brooks, 2022 Red Bluff champion Jesse Colwell, Lakeport Indoor points leader Rowdy Gramps of Chico, and Chowchilla Barnburner points leader Christian Hickman. Oregon Outlaw Kart standouts Tanner and Carly Holmes have also thrown their hats into the ring for the record-breaking event. 2023 Marysville Raceway Park Sprint Car champion Brian McGahan, Jr. and Silver Dollar Speedway promoter Colby Copeland are also entered.

The growing form of racing has been the catalyst for many of the biggest names of all-time in dirt racing, including kicking off the careers for World of Outlaws champion Brad Sweet, NASCAR champion Kyle Larson, and 2023 National Sprint Car Hall of Fame 410 Sprint Car team of the year Rico Abreu Racing.

Youth of the sport will be prominently featured throughout the High Desert Hustle with the Box Stock class for ages 8 through 12 including 35 entries. The entry-level Beginner Box Stock class has 32 entries with drivers as young as five years old.
