CADEN SARALE KICKS OFF DELTA TURKEY BOWL WITH FRIDAY MIDGET WIN

STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA (October 24, 2026) – The 27th running of the Turkey Bowl kicked off Friday night for Micro Sprints at Stockton’s Delta Speedway along with the first BCRA Midget race at the speedway in 40 years. One of Delta’s top champions, Stockton’s Caden Sarale, prevailed in the 25-lap Midget main event. Photo by Bob Messer

Sarale fended off friend and foe Nikko Panella of Stockton for the $1,250 triumph. Panella, the 2026 track champion in both Winged and Non-Wing Micro Sprints, raced in three divisions on Friday night with heat races and knockout action for the Micros. A total of 120 race teams participated in the action.

Panella led Midget time trials while Bakersfield’s Blayden Graham and Sarale split the heat races.

The 25-lap feature was a fast-paced affair with Sarale pacing Panella through lapped traffic. A few brief three-wide moments were as close as Panella got to snookering Sarale out of the top spot. Graham finished third followed by 2026 Western Midget Racing champion Logan Mitchell of Santa Cruz in a stock EcoTec-powered machine. Former Turkey Bowl Micro winner Jake Androetti of Castro Valley finished fifth.

The Midgets return Saturday night for $5,000 to win in a 50-lap contest.

Each Micro Sprint division competed in dual heat races and a Knockout race to determine positioning for Saturday’s championship features. Champions and former Turkey Bowl winners dominated the proceedings.

Bakersfield’s Jett Yantis won the Super 600 winged Knockout race while 2025 Turkey Bowl winner Cameron Paul won the Non-Wing Knockout. 2026 track champions TK O’Brien in A-Class and Maya Mauldin in Restricted won their Knockout features. The six-lap dash for the Jr. Sprints went to one of California’s winningest drivers with Lee Uzzell taking the trophy.

Championship night is on tap Saturday night for the Turkey Bowl XXVII with all six divisions competing. Drivers meeting is at 4:30pm with grandstands opening at 5pm
