SHASTA SPEEDWAY ROUND TWO HITS THE ASPHALT MAY 31ST

ANDERSON, Calif. (May 28, 2025) – The new era of Shasta Speedway continues into Round Two this Saturday night May 31st with Super Late Models, INEX Legends, Bombers, and Hornets competing at the fairgrounds in Anderson. Saturday’s races are headlined by the Super Late Model 125, racing for $2,000 to win and $700 to start. $450 in tow money is available per each driver who travels more than two and a half hours to compete as well. Tickets for round two are just $15 for adults with kids 12 and under admitted for free. Tickets available at the gates at 5pm or online at www.ShastaSpeedway.com Racing begins at 7pm.

INEX Legends will compete for additional prize money, racing for $500 to win, $400 for second, $300 for third, $200 for fourth, $100 for fifth, and $50 to take the green flag.

Derek Copeland prevailed in the season opener for the Super Late Models, leading 111 of the 125 laps for the $2,000 prize with the $10,000 season championship in his sights.

Former Shasta 125 winner Dane Nissen, Louie Shaha, David Dillinger, and Lane Anderson rounded out the top-five finishers. 16 drivers participated in the season opener.

More than 30 INEX NorCal Legends raced in round one with Huntington Beach’s Robby Czub coming out on top after an exciting and closely matched main event for the scaled race cars. 35-laps of Legends racing is scheduled this weekend.

An exciting Hornets 25-lap feature came down to the final straightaway with Peter Smith III winning a drag race over Travis Root for the coveted win. The Cottonwood driver aims for back-to-back wins this Saturday.

Kyle Borden overcame a seventh place starting position to win the opening Bombers main event. Dustin Hillis, Scott MacLeod, Bobby Crowell, and Tim MacLeod were the balance of the top-five finishers. A 30-lap feature is planned for this Saturday night as well!
