TREVOR HUDDLESTON AND DAVEY HAMILTON PREVAIL IN HARVEST CLASSIC AT MADERA SPEEDWAY

MADERA, CALIFORNIA (September 27, 2025) – Trevor Huddleston of Agoura Hills extended his ARCA Menards Series, West points lead while Davey Hamilton, Sr. prevailed in the finale for the 2025 Speed Tour Super Modifieds during Saturday’s 52nd annual Harvest Classic at Madera Speedway. The largest crowd of the season was on hand for a full night of high horsepower racing, with Eric Humphries winning the NCMA Sprint Car Series feature as well. Photos by Matt Sublett
For Huddleston and Hamilton, their victories marked back-to-back Harvest Classic triumphs on the fastest one-third mile in the west.
Jaron Giannini of Las Vegas topped the General Tire Pole Award qualifying for the ARCA West Series. The Madera 150 presented by Madera Ford and the West Coast Stock Car Hall of Fame saw Giannini and Huddleston share the front row. Huddleston quickly drove around Giannini for the lead.
Huntington Beach’s Jake Bollman went up in smoke for a red flag on just the second lap of racing. Eric Nascimento drove into second before battling with Giannini for many laps. Hard contact between Alabama’s Cody Dennison and Watsonville’s Todd Souza required the second red flag for fluid on lap 70.
Roseville winner and Madera resident Robbie Kennealy rolled the bottom to pass both Giannini and Nascimento to advance into second place. LaCenter, Washington’s Eric Johnson, Jr. followed him into third.
A debris caution lined up Kennealy outside of Huddleston. Kennealy was unable to mount a challenge and fell back to fourth behind former Short Track Shootout champion Kyle Keller and Johnson. Keller ran down Huddleston for the lead while Johnson and Kennealy battled hard for third. Keller raced to Huddleston’s rear bumper in lapped traffic over the final five circuits but was unable to complete a pass. Trevor Huddleston won his second consecutive Madera 150 followed by Keller. A physical duel with multiple side-by-side battles saw Johnson outlast Kennealy for third. Madera’s Joey Iest went three-wide at the finish to score fifth.
“I want to start off by giving kudos to Kyle Keller. They went to their back up car, worked all night long and this morning to get it ready. I knew when he was behind me he was going to be tough, but I had 100% confidence that it was going to be a good battle. He raced me clean,” Huddleston said. “It’s pretty epic. I’m really thankful.”
Davey Hamilton won the Speed Tour Super Modified 40-lap feature while Gilroy’s Bobby Dalton won the war by winning the 2025 series championship for car owner Dave Twyman. Dalton’s accomplishments included sweeping the fast-time at every event in the series this season.
Shane Vanderpool of Laton led lap one before 2024 season champion Randy Anderson of Tacoma, Washington led lap two. Clovis’ Jim Birges soared into the lead on lap five over Anderson. Washington’s TJ Sneva hit the front stretch wall for a caution flag on lap nine. Birges restarted with Hamilton behind him. Hamilton made a quick move to the inside into turn one, slicing past Birges to lead lap 10.
Birges challenged Hamilton and showed his nose in turn four on several occasions. Dalton then closed in for second place. Hamilton slid across the finish line while Birges went up in smoke in turn three behind him. Dalton snuck through to finish second while Birges settled for third. Anderson was fourth followed by Art McCarthy in fifth. Hamilton dedicated the win to both his car owner Warren Buddell and his late crew chief and car owner Larry Trigueiro.
“First of all, this wasn’t easy. We lost our brakes on around lap 28. The last lap I don’t know what happened but I got super loose there. I love Madera man. I love the fans. This track has been very good to me,” Hamilton said. “(The late) Larry Triguerio was my man. This thing sucked in the heat race and we did a little prayer and Larry came down and put some magic on this thing. Hopefully we made him proud!”
Eric Humphries made a decisive opening lap pass count, winning the 30-lap NCMA Sprint Car feature. Humphries drove past Napa’s racing doctor David Goodwill at the start. He maintained a lead over 2024 Harvest Classic winner Shauna Hogg of Fair Oaks and points leader Tony Hunt of Rocklin throughout the race. Austin Carter of Clovis finished fourth ahead of Goodwill.
