ARCA MENARDS SERIES WEST RETURNS TO UTAH AND IRWINDALE

(June 5, 2020) – Utah Motorsports Campus in Tooele, Utah has announced the return of the ARCA Menards Series West, with spectators, on June 27th. The event will be the first race at the 2.2 mile road course since 2016 and the first event for the series since Las Vegas in February. The series will host a doubleheader at Utah Motorsports Campus then move on to a race at Irwindale Speedway on Saturday, July 4.

The West will run two 30-lap championship points events on Utah’s 2.2-mile East course, with the first race scheduled for 4pm MT and the second immediately following.

The event will be a one-day show, with practice, qualifying and the final race taking place on the East Course. Gates will open at 11am. Having consulted with Tooele County, UMC will be able to offer 500 spectator tickets for the event.

In accordance with county and state regulations, all guests’ temperatures will be taken at the gate, and social-distancing rules will be in force. All UMC staff will wear masks, and public touchpoints will be disinfected on an ongoing basis.

2019 East Series champion Sam Mayer dominated the series opener at Las Vegas in February but was followed across the finish line by 15 year-old Jesse Love and Bakersfield’s Blaine Perkins. Fellow series championship contenders Gracie Trotter and Trevor Huddleston rounded out the top-five.

Irwindale Speedway’s 125-lap race on July 4th will be run without pit stops. The event will be limited to essential race personnel only and no spectators per state and local guidelines.
