Rev. Ron Spencer was a staple of Madera Speedway before his passing, with his presence missed every season at the Madera Fairgrounds.

Main events begin at 6pm with the 51FIFTY Jr. Late Model race green flag slated for approx. 8pm. Adult tickets are just $20, seniors and military are $15, youth ages 6-12 are $10 and kids five and under are free. All tickets will be sold at the track ticket booth.

Race fans can “Join” www.YouTube.com/ShortTrackTV for $19.99 per month for a members-only live stream as well. The races will be televised at a later date on RACER Network.

Pendergrass, Georgia’s Lane Christensen has experienced one of the best starts in 51FIFTY Jr. Late Model Series history to lead the standings for drivers ages 10-16 years old. Christensen rocketed to victory in round one, led the most laps in round two, and then scored his second victory in round three. Christensen came into the 2026 season with no prior stock car experience, leaning on INEX Legends training to succeed in Late Models. Illinois driver Keatin Lyons has improved in each event as well, with finishes of fourth, third, and second to run second in the championship. Brexton Busch has a second place finish and a third place finish on his resume for third in the standings. Washington’s Hunter Gates and California’s Jarrett Dickson are separated by just two points in the battle for fourth.

The young drivers compete in a 70-lap feature under the lights on Saturday night, starting with a 40-lap opening segment followed by a break for adjustments and RACER Network interviews. A 30-lap race to the finish determines the winner.

Opening night Mission Pro Late Model winner Mike Hensley leads Jason Aguirre of Atwater by just two points in the championship with both drivers aiming for their first Rev. Ron Spencer Classic victory this weekend. Shaun Reynolds of Coarsegold has gone to victory lane in back-to-back races, moving to within three points of the championship lead as well. Alaska’s Hunter Maier earned a career-best third place finish during the third event and is fourth overall. Veteran Rick Thompson of Fresno rounds out the top-five heading into a 70-lap feature on Saturday.

Steve Schermerhorn leads Jason Kerns by nine points in the Pro Sportsman standings with a 30-lap feature on tap. Brennen Mankin earned his first career win on June 30th and is third overall followed by 2025 champion Joseph Holiday in fourth and James Cooke in fifth.

INEX Legends are also slated for a 30-lap feature on Saturday night.

Saturday pit gates open at 1:30pm with the drivers meeting at 3pm. Practice begins at 3:30pm. Qualifying hits the track at 5:15pm followed by heat races. Opening Ceremonies are at 6pm.
