YANTIS, SNOW, DAVIS, AND UZZELL SNARE 2025 HOOSIER TIRE CALIFORNIA SPEEDWEEK CHAMPIONSHIPS

STOCKTON, Calif. (July 6, 2025) – The 2025 Hoosier Tire California Speedweek concluded after four Micro Sprint races in five nights with Bakersfield’s Jett Yantis claiming the championship in both Super 600 and A-Class, earning the “big bear” wooden trophies for the accomplishment. He was joined by KJ Snow of Kingsburg in Non-Wing, Briggs Davis of Manteca in Restricted, and Lee Uzzell of Hanford in Jr. Sprints as champions of the series, following Saturday’s finale at Delta Speedway in Stockton. Uzzell was the only driver of the five champions to win their main event on Saturday night.

Yantis led qualifying for the Super 600 action while Fresno’s Colton Key and Glendale, Ariz.’s Austin Torgerson scored during the 10-lap heat races. Torgerson darted to victory in the 30-lap feature off the pole position followed by seventh-starting Alex Panella of Stockton in his only start of the week. Broedy Graham of Bakersfield was third while Yantis finished fourth to seal the $2,000 championship prize. Stefan Sidur of Madera rounded out the top-five.

Yantis’ Super 600 week was a sterling one, earning a win and two second place finishes before Saturday’s fourth place effort. Torgerson earned a $1,000 second place finish in the standings as well.

An opening night DNF for Yantis in Non-Wing effectively took him out of the championship race the rest of the way. He followed that with a second-place, a fifth-place, and then scoring the finale victory at Delta Speedway. Incoming championship leader Jeffrey Pahule of Brentwood topped qualifying. Cody Jessop of Madera, Nikko Panella of Stockton, and Torgerson then won the heat races.

An incident in the 30-lap feature shattered the championship hopes for Pahule. Pahule and Yantis exchanged maneuvers for the lead before Pahule had the top spot in hand by lap three. Fresno’s Mattix Salmon challenged Pahule into turn one and they collided, sending Pahule sliding into the wall and out of the race on lap five.

Yantis assumed the lead and never relinquished it for the $500 victory. Arizona’s Quinn Thuerin wrapped a second-place in the points with a second-place finish in the feature. Brody Rubio of Manteca finished third followed by KJ Snow and Visalia winner Cameron Paul of Springville.

Kingsburg’s KJ Snow did not win a feature during the four nights of competition, but four top-six finishes propelled him to the $1,500 championship and the big bear trophy. Thuerin finished second in the standings followed by Pahule, Yantis, and Paul.

Brycen Roush of Riverdale won the finale for an exciting week of stock A-Class racing at the California Speedweek. The inaugural running of the division saw 30 different drivers compete. Australia’s Cruz Farrell led the qualifying action while Yantis and Riverdale’s Brycen Roush won the heat races.

Roush proceeded to claim the 25-lap feature victory for a bear trophy and $500. Yantis finished second to cap the championship week. Blayden Graham of Bakersfield was third followed by Maverick Myrick of Tulare, and Dalton Parreira of Hanford. Yantis was a perfect four-for-four with top-two finishes in A-Class en route to the championship Myrick finished second followed by Roush in third.

The Restricted division also saw a main event incident change the complexion of the championship. Incoming points leader Cole Bezio of El Cajon flipped from the sixth position with just six laps remaining in the 25-lap main event. Bezio was unable to continue due to the damage and lost the championship as a result.

Haven Sherman of Citrus Heights led the way for her first career Restricted feature win. Manteca’s Briggs Davis did just enough with a second-place finish in the event, claiming the come from behind Restricted championship victory. Tyce Domingos finished the main event in third followed by Maya Mauldin of Rancho Murieta and Aubri Huckleberry. Mackcen Roush of Riverdale was the top qualifier. Roush and Arizona’s Jayden Ferneau won the heat races.

Lee Uzzell of Hanford completed a nearly perfect Jr. Sprints Speedweek on Saturday night, earning his third 20-lap feature win and the 2025 championship. Opening night winner Logan LaVarnway of Lemoore finished second in the final main event and second in the standings as well. Huckcen Roush of Riverdale, Jaxson Evett of Visalia, and Easton Wright of Martinez rounded out the main event top-five. Wright was the quickest in qualifying and won the first heat race. LaVarnway won the other heat race.

A total of 123 different competitors participated in the 2025 Hoosier Tire California Speedweek with nearly $54,000 in awards.
