FERNANDEZ AND STREETER EARN BREAKTHROUGHS AT DELTA SPEEDWAY

STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA (July 27, 2025) – 15 year-old Kyle Fernandez of Tracy enjoyed his first career Delta Speedway A-Class victory while 13-year-old Johnny Streeter of Thornton made his first ever trip to Delta Speedway victory lane in a fan-friendly round six of the 2025 championship on Saturday night. Tracy’s Levi Osborne led both qualifying and the first heat race for the stock A-Class competition. Kaiden Gowen of Watsonville claimed the other heat race. The 25-lap feature on the 1/7th mile dirt track lined up Petaluma’s Jason Maples and Fernandez on the front row. Fernandez made quick work of Maples and left zero doubt about his winning intentions, driving to a commanding 4.786 second lead at the finish line. Maples finished second followed by Manteca’s TK O’Brien, Osborne, and points leader Landon Henry.
2025 championship leader Briggs Davis of Manteca topped the Restricted competitors in qualifying action and won his heat race. Andrew Williams of Fresno scored in the other heat race. A four-car invert placed Streeter on the pole for 25-laps of Restricted main event racing. Streeter had a close call with lapped traffic on the backstretch, narrowly maintaining the lead over Davis. Streeter withstood several challenges from Davis to take his inaugural win. Dean Skrifvars finished third followed by Aubri Huckleberry and Maya Mauldin.
Alex Panella of Stockton earned his fourth consecutive top-two finish by winning Saturday’s 30-lap Super 600 feature. Peyton Whitehouse led qualifying while Raio Salmon topped the heat race. Alex Panella then won a duel with brother Nikko for the feature victory. Alex Panella stretched his lead to nearly three seconds at the stripe. Mattix Salmon of Fresno finished third followed by Stockton’s Vito Celli and Josiah Vega.
Nikko Panella prevailed in the Non-Wing action before a field of 18 entries which led the pit area on Saturday night. Panella topped the qualifying before Lucas Mauldin and Jarrett Heimlich split the ten-lap heat races.
Heimlich had a strong start to the feature, leading the first 15 laps and pacing Ty Carlson through lapped traffic. Heimlich then held the lead through a restart. Panella worked his way up to second position and then worked his way past Heimlich with just three laps remaining. Panella got the move done with a slidejob in turn four and led the rest of the way. Brody Rubio drove past Heimlich for second place as well. Heimlich settled for third followed by Carlson and Lucas Maudlin.
Easton Wright dominated the Jr. Sprints 20-lap feature for the win, topping rookie Santino Gonella. Samantha Dozier, Logan Fenn, and Edward Olvera were the top-five finishers. Lucas Fenn suffered a wild flip on lap 16 but was uninjured. Logan Fenn and Gonella split the heat races.
Up next for Delta Speedway is points race no. 7 on Saturday night August 16th!
