PLACERVILLE SPEEDWAY ANNOUNCES CANCELATION OF HANGTOWN 100 FOR 2020

(November 10, 2020 from Gary Thomas) – Event Promoters of the Hangtown 100, Matt Wood, Scott Russell and Kami Arnold, have been forced to announce the cancelation of this year’s race scheduled for November 19th, 20th and 21st. Photo by Tim Holland

With El Dorado County moving back to the red tier today and the uncertainty surrounding things, event officials felt it was in the best interest to get the word out to everyone as fast as possible so they can make alternate plans. Speedway staff put in plenty of effort to make the show go, but unfortunately, it’s not in the cards for this year.

“The 2020 season has been rough on the racing community and we know this only makes a bad situation worse,” commented Elk Grove Ford President Matt Wood. “We are sorry to make this announcement but please believe we exhausted all possibilities and felt it was necessary to get the word out as quickly as we could. We will be back in 2021 bigger and better than ever.”

Refunds will be processed immediately and registration credits from the USAC/BCRA race will carry over to next year’s event. Plenty of Hangtown 100 T-shirts and Hoodies are also available, which have now become collector’s items. Visit www.hangtown100.com/shop to purchase yours today.
