The 2024 USAC/CRA season has delivered non-stop action. The inaugural Vermeer & Ferreira Classic on August 31st featured three-wide racing for the win in the closing stages of the 30-lap feature, with incoming points leader Tommy “Thunder” Malcom pulling off the last lap pass for victory. Charles Davis, Jr. and Austin Williams rounded out the narrow podium.

On June 8th, R.J. Johnson won the Golden Empire Clash at Kern Dirt Track from sixth on the grid, topping Logan Williams and A.J. Bender. Two complete features, two wholly different podiums reflect the competitiveness of the 2024 series.

Johnson added a win at Santa Maria on September 7th and a runner-up finish at Perris last weekend to wrestle the points lead away from Malcom. Johnson and Malcom head into Saturday’s event separated by just three markers in the standings. Austin Williams, Bender, and Logan Williams round out the top-five. David Gasper, Cody Williams, Verne Sweeney, Austin Grabowski, and Eddie Tafoya, Jr. make up the balance of the top-ten.

Among the other drivers expected to be in action are “Chargin” Charles Davis Jr., Grant Sexton, Logan Calderwood, “The Pride of Garden Grove” Brody Roa, Kaleb Montgomery, Ryan Timmons, “Flash” Jordan Hermansader, and more.

The Dirt Track at Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway is located at 13500 Raceway Boulevard in Bakersfield, California. To get to the speedway, take Interstate-5 and exit at Enos Lane (CA 43, Exit 246) and drive to Raceway Blvd. The track is on the west side of the interstate.
