HARVICK AND PETERSON TAME THE TERRIBLE’S SHOWDOWN AT THE BULLRING
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA (March 29, 2026) – 13-year-old Keelan Harvick took on a field of the best Pro Late Models in the SPEARS CARS Tour West on Saturday night at the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, prevailing in the 125-lap Terrible’s Showdown for his first Pro Late Model win of the 2026 season. Californian Jeffrey Peterson earned his sixth consecutive Limited Late Model win in Las Vegas as well when he took home the $4,000 prize in the Terrible’s Showdown 100.
Harvick topped Hamke qualifying over the 24-car field of drivers from across North America. Harvick lined up on the front row with his 14-year-old teammate Vito Cancilla of Martinez, Calif., with Cancilla challenging Harvick briefly on a pair of early restarts.
15-year-old Taylor Mayhew, winner of February’s $15,000 Battle at the Bullring for Super Late Models, then drove inside of Cancilla for the second spot. Cancilla was freight trained on the highline before colliding with the slower car of Darren Clayton, spinning down the backstretch for a caution on lap 40.
Arizona’s Dylan Cappello then seized second from Mayhew on lap 64. Harvick cruised to victory over the second half of the feature followed by Cappello and Mayhew. Cancilla highlighted the action with a spirited charge through the pack to finish fourth. Las Vegas’ Kyle Keller ran fifth.
CARS Tour West Limited Late Model points leader Kenna Mitchell of Loomis, Calif. won time trials for Saturday’s 100-lap affair and made some daring moves throughout the feature. But the man who has dominated Las Vegas hit the jackpot again with Jeffrey Peterson winning for the sixth time in 2026.
Peterson hounded the rear bumper of Mitchell over the first 18 circuits and dove to her inside exiting turn four, but the move was nullified by a caution. The ensuing restart saw Peterson pick the inside on the choose cone, lining up behind Mitchell. Peterson drove deep into turn three and grabbed the top position on lap 19.
Series rookie Skyler Schoppe of Clovis, Calif. battled back and forth with Mitchell for second position. Schoppe completed the pass and brought along fellow Clovis resident Cooper into third. Mitchell executed a critical crossover, swooping back into third with 19 laps to go.
Schoppe and Mitchell went back and forth again for second place after a lap 86 restart. Schoppe was pinned on the top line then tangled with Cooper and Nash Youngren, spinning out of turn four with just one lap to go.
Peterson handled the green-white-checkered finish for the win while 2025 track champion Cody Brown used the choose cone to advance into a second-place finish. Mitchell settled for third while 2025 Madera champion Jay Juleson of San Jose finished fourth. Christian Bazen rounded out the top-five.
Las Vegas’ Gavin Ray won a thriller for the 30-lap Frank’s Radio Legends Tour West, leading just the final lap over Bakersfield’s Logan Chambers. Chambers dominated most of the feature before Ray got to his bumper into turn three for the decisive pass for the win. Brenden Ruzbarsky made up for a crash in the Limited Late Model finish to finish third in the Legends feature. Austin Steinke and Bullring track points leader Sean Salazaar rounded out the top-five.
The No. 29 continued to be the dominant number in the NASCAR Modifieds but with a different winner. Utah’s Zach Webster won a tight battle of Utah drivers, leading Bountiful, Utah’s Eric Rhead at the checkered flag for the 40-lap feature. The victory is Webster’s first at The Bullring. Kyle Jacks led the Nevada contingent in third while two-time 2026 winner Sam Jacks – driving his Battle Born Racing No. 29 – finished fourth. Kayli Peterson ran fifth.
Kyle Jacks won the NASCAR Street and Factory Stocks action ahead of Bill Paddack, Jr. Vinny Raucci finished third to round out the Street Stock podium. Dallas Simonette won his second Factory Stock “race within a race”, topping Rob Pflaffy and Bobby Schumacher.
Ben Williams drove from 11th on the grid to win the NASCAR Mini Stocks main event for the third time in 2026. Mike McIntyre of Bullhead City, Ariz. finished second followed by March 7 winner Melissa Lurkins, Austin Tognotti, and Southern California’s Bobby Ozman.
Las Vegas’ youngest racers in the INEX Terrible’s Bandoleros again shined brightly with a non-stop 15-lap main event featuring 17 competitors. Oconomowoc, Wisc. Visitor Harley Johnson lead wire-to-wire against the top young drivers in the region. Points leader Dylan Mancini, Braxton Garcia, Beau Paddack, and Austin French pursued Johnson.
The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway continues on April 11 with a full slate of NASCAR-sanctioned Local Racing Series presented by Star Nursery action.
