WEST COAST MOTORSPORTS GUIDE FOR MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND

(May 22, 2020) – Perhaps the largest weekend of grassroots motorsports on the West Coast since the Coronavirus shutdown began is set for this Memorial Day Weekend. Adobe Mountain Speedway in Arizona will host Micro Sprints and Lightning Sprints in the “Salute to Indy” on Saturday and Sunday. Sunday’s purse includes $1,000 to win for the Lightning Sprints and $1,000 to win for both the Super 600 and Non-Wing Micro Sprints. Each main event will also have lap money and bonuses as well. This event is being streamed by Fast Four Media.

Fast Four Media will also have its cameras rolling for points paying action at Cycleland Speedway for the Jim Shirley Memorial for Outlaw Karts. Spectators are allowed with social distancing. Masks are recommended but not required.

Antioch Speedway kicks off two days of action on Saturday night with $600 to win IMCA Modifieds, $300 to win for IMCA Sport Mods, and Hobby Stocks also competiting. Sunday’s finale for the weekend will be the “Covid-19 / Steitz Race” with $1,900 on the line in the Modifieds. $900 will be offered to the Sport Mod winner with Hobby Stocks paying $300. Several bonuses are being offered as well. Grandstands will be closed with streaming available through Speed Shift TV.

Dixon Speedway will look to build on its more than 80 car turnout last weekend with a two-day Micro Sprint show, Saturday and Sunday. Dirt Oval TV will live stream the festitivites with Super 600, Non-Wing, Restricted, and Jr. Sprints points racing on tap.

Monday will be another points paying 360 Sprint Car race at Marysville Raceway. Originally slated to be the Mel Hall Memorial for the Sprint Car Challenge Tour, instead the 360s will race in the Yuba River Gold Rush for the regular weekly purse along with IMCA Sport Mods. Speed Shift TV will also carry this action.

Several tracks will offer testing over the weekend including an open practice at Madera Speedway, open to all track members. Social distancing and mitigation rules apply and can be found by contacting the speedway directly for details.
