NETTO AND DAY HIGHLIGHT WINNERS IN RETURN OF DIRT TRACK RACING TO CALIFORNIA

(May 10, 2020) – Over 200 race cars converged on Dixon Speedway, Marysville Raceway, and Placerville Speedway in Saturday night’s return to dirt track racing in the state of California. With COVID19 mitigation rules in place, DJ Netto won the 360 feature at Marysville while Corey Day led winners at Dixon in the Super 600 division. Netto’s victory paid $2200 which his team plans to donate to a local food bank in his hometown of Hanford. Photos by Casey Lee & Chris Cleveland.

Marysville’s action in front of an empty grandstand was streamed live on Speed Shift TV, headlined by 28- 360 Sprint Cars in the pits. Andy Forsberg started on the pole of the feature while Netto worked forward from his ninth starting position. Forsberg was mired in heavy lapped traffic with three laps remaining and flipped entering turn one to surrender the lead.

Netto drove off for the victory over the final three laps with fast-time qualifier Ryan Robinson second ahead of John Michael Bunch, T.J. Michael, and 15 year-old Jesse Love. Brett Youngman claimed the Crate Sprints feature while Brian Cooper won Sport Mods and Zach Lindgren continued his winning ways in the Hobby Stocks. Bonuses offered by track supporters pushed the Hobby Stock win to a $475 victory while almost $500 were awarded across a variety of bonuses in Sport Mods.  MARYSVILLE RESULTS

Championship points were on the line in front of an empty grandstand with races streamed on Dirt Oval TV. 2019 Cal Cup champion Corey Day started on the outside pole of Super 600 alongside Brad Hannum, crossing him over to lead lap one. Day never relinquished the lead while Hannum and Caeden Steele battled for the second position behind him. Hannum won that battle for second ahead of Steele, Garcia, and Andrichuk.

Multiple-time Delta Speedway champion Brandon Carey won Non-Wing in an event that attracted 34 entries. Restricted 2019 Cal Cup winner Dalton Parreira won his main event while Kyle Fernandez won in Jr. Sprints.  DIXON RESULTS
