DELTA SPEEDWAY PREPARING FOR 2020 RACING SEASON WITH SPECIAL EVENTS
STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA (December 11, 2019) – The 2020 campaign for the Delta Speedway presented by Financial Center Credit Union is fast approaching, with some of the nation’s best Micro Sprint racers ready to battle at the 1/7th mile dirt oval in Stockton, Calif. The oval will come to life this Saturday with the third annual Swap Meet and Test Day, followed by the championship awards banquet on January 25th, 2020.
Saturday’s festivities open at 8 a.m. for the swap meet with $20 for a vendor space. Testing will be $40, while shoppers and spectators will be admitted for $10. The event serves as an off-season recharge and an opportunity to prepare for the upcoming Tulsa Shootout as well.
The championship awards banquet will follow, honoring the top-ten finishers from each of the four regular Micro Sprint divisions at the speedway. It will be held once again at the beautiful Heritage Dining and Provisions at the Waterloo Gun and Bocce Club in Stockton. Doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets will be available online soon at DeltaSpeedwayStockton.com for $40 each! Dinner options include salad, pasta, tri tip, chicken, and dessert.
Raffle prizes and gift baskets are a great part of the championship awards banquet. This year’s offerings will include a Monster Jam-themed gift basket along with a family four pack of tickets for the event on February 15-16 in Oakland. The 2020 racing season fires off officially on either March 21 or March 28, weather permitting, for a Play Day. The opening night of Micro Sprint points competition is April 4 with 15 points races total on the schedule. This year’s calendar includes an extra date in May that will serve as a rain date if necessary.
The popular Summer Sizzler returns on June 19 and 20 along with the Dual at Delta on September 5th and 6th. Each of these events presents complete points races on each night of competition. Champions will be decided on October 3rd with the 20th running of the Turkey Bowl to follow on October 23 and 24. The Hoosier Tire California Speedweek dates will be announced at a later date.
